Today Michaela and I went to Joanns in search of backings for our quilts. Her quilt is still a work in progress that just kinda happened while I was on a break from my Allietare quilt. Michaelas' quilt is supposed to represent looking out a window at a sunflower. Her favorite flower. It's starting to take shape and looking very nice. I'll do another post on her quilt when we are closer to getting it completed.
Back to shopping... We arrived at Joanns and were just looking around to see what our choices were going to be. We were also planning on going to JC Penneys to see if there were any decent sheet sets on sale. I don't like to use cotton sheets for the backs of quilts, but if I found something that matched other than solid flannel, I 'd use it. Suffice it to say, I didn't find anything at JC Penneys so we wondered off to Macy's. Overly priced stuff, but again we were just looking for flannel sheets that might have been on sale. Nothing there that I was going to spend lots of money on except a new set of sheets for my bed. Goodness knows we need new sheets. So back to Joanns we went!
Red Tag clearance fabric was 50% off so of course I had to get some more COLOR for my stash. We settled on a few solid flannels for Michaelas' quilt back and a gray damask print for my quilt back. All in all it was a good progressive day!
